General Obedience II
Many dog owners establish the communication with their dogs early. One way this happens is through the time spent with their dog. The owners learn their K-9 friends' behaviors and habits. The dog learns also. They pick up on the way their owners act or react to their actions and other K-9 antics.

Busy Rottie's General Obedience Level 2 ~ Extends the Communication. At this level, the main goal is to strengthen the ability of control over your dog. There are moments when you will need to bring your dog to different environments and in close contact with strangers. With the Busy Rottie system, control over your K-9 friend, without wrestling with them, is a command away.

The Down (Lay)
The concept for the down (lay) command is simular to the sit command, however it takes a little more patience. Once the sit command has been acheived, the down command should be taught next. The addition to teaching the down would be the use of the lead / leash. Once your dog is at a sit, a gentle 'tug' down on the lead / leash will give the dog an understanding of what you are requesting.

The requirement for patience may be needed at this point. Your dog may resist this request initially. The down (lay) command can be perceived by the dog as a submissive action. If so, the dog may not be as relaxed when first initiating the request. Remember, not to make it a battle. Your dog just wants to understand what you want.
